Danish, early 1900s
Antique 14ct Gold, Diamond Skonvirke Ring
USD Approx. $0
A striking hand-made Danish dress ring in the Skonvirke style.
Skonvirke (aesthetic work) was an arts movement pioneered by Danish craftsmen in the early 1900s, popularised around the world by the jewellery of Georg Jensen. It shared similarities with Arts & Crafts and Art Nouveau/Jugendstil, characterised by hand-crafted pieces inspired by natural forms.
This wonderful Skonvirke ring is typical of the style, with leaves and plant-like tendrils forming the face of the ring, and decorative sculpted shoulders.
The 14ct gold is a lovely, rich warm colour, bordering on rose gold. It is set with a sparkling Old European cut Diamond of 0.20 carats.
A truly marvellous antique ring for a lover of artisan jewellery.
