Antique Hematite Dress Ring in 9ct Rose Gold
Unusual and so very eye-catching, this American dress ring dates to the late Victorian era – late 1800s to early 1900s.
Hand-crafted in a rose pink 9ct gold, it showcases a half-cylinder cabochon of hematite with faceted edges, measuring 10.3 x 8.3mm.
Popular in antique jewellery of the 1800s, hematite is most often seen as engraved intaglios in vintage signet rings. It’s quite unusual to see it faceted in this style and with its rather mysterious metallic lustre, it catches and reflects the light beautifully!
Decorative fleur-de-lis style shoulders with hand engraved detail taper down to a wide plain band at the rear.
In very very good antique condition (the stone is pristine, with no chips or abrasions) – a lovely one-of-a-kind victorian dress ring!
