Victorian Two-Tone Gold, Garnet-set Brooch
A sublime antique English brooch from the late 1800s.
She’s only a wee little thing, measuring 24mm x 21mm, but such detail! The hand-engraving work is exquisite – and quite hard to do justice to in photos.
The brooch is crafted from 12ct rose gold with applied structural elements (leaves and wirework) in contrasting yellow gold.
A beautiful claw-set rhodolite garnet of 0.36ct sits proudly atop the raised leaf detail, for a lovely 3D effect.
The garnet is in excellent condition and the brooch fastens securely with its original C-clasp.
A gorgeous little antique accent brooch to brighten a lapel, or perhaps on a black velvet ribbon worn at the wrist or throat? So striking!
